The Book of Mormon, Broadway Across America

The Book of Mormon, Broadway Across America Cover

The Book of Mormon is now playing at the Hobby Center in Houston until Sunday, January 12, as part of Broadway Across America! I saw this hilarious and heart-filled musical when it premiered in Dallas last year, and I’m thrilled to say the Houston production delivers just as much outrageous comedy and clever storytelling.

Written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone alongside Robert Lopez (Frozen), this show isn’t afraid to be bold, satirical, and controversial. But beyond the laughs, it offers genuinely thoughtful messages about belief, perseverance, and community.

The touring cast, including Sam McLellan as the ambitious Elder Price and Diego Enrico as the quirky Elder Cunningham, is phenomenal, with standout vocals from understudy India Shelbi Boone (normally portrayed by Keke Nesbitt) as Nabulungi, a Ugandan villager. Combined with dynamic sets and lighting, the production immerses you in its unforgettable story.

Whether you’re a first-timer or have seen The Book of Mormon before, don’t miss your chance to laugh, reflect, and be thoroughly entertained. Just remember—it’s packed with explicit humor and is best suited for an adult audience!
